Hancock Pond, Denmark, Sebago

Hancock Pond has a surface area of 761 acres, a maximum depth of 59 feet, a mean depth of 17 feet, and a water quality rating from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection of "above average". The perimeter of the pond is 8.3 miles and there are 169 shorefront lots found here.

According to the the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Hancock Pond provides a diversity of sports fishing for every kind of sports fisherman throughout the year. Brown trout fishing is good in the early spring and during ice fishing season, as well. Smelts provide good action during the winter season and some ardent smelt fishermen have good luck fishing for them during the summer. Both species of bass are numerous and it is not rare to catch fish of three or four pounds.

Hancock Pond has two public boat launches - one at its northeast end and the other at its southwest corner. The pond is located in the towns of Denmark and Sebago, just to the west of Route 107.
