Town of Denmark

The town of Denmark, located in the Lakes Region of southwestern Maine, is one of the state's hidden treasures. Generations of visitors have made Denmark their destination for outdoor adventures and seasonal activities. With a small New England town charm, beautiful views and scenic ponds, Denmark is truly a unique Maine experience.

Incorporated in 1807, Denmark is situated between the Lakes Region of Southern Maine and the foothills of the White Mountains. The geography of the town is dominated by rolling hills and dense forest. Several ponds call Denmark home including Moose Pond, Hancock Pond, Sand Pond, and Granger Pond. These bodies of water were once home to colonial timber harvesting mills, but now provide a place for year round recreational activities.

The Town of Denmark is crossed by the state highways of routes 117 and 160, providing a scenic transportation corridor to southern Maine and New Hampshire. It is located just 8 miles from Bridgton and 23 miles from North Conway, NH. Denmark is also home to two historic girls summer camps in addition to numerous other camping facilities.

The dedication of community organizations is a source of pride for the Town of Denmark. Citizens never fail to band together to help people in need while at the same time providing for the community. This commitment can be seen everyday in Denmark but notably in the town's new Bicentennial Park located at the foot of Moose Pond.

The citizens of Denmark cherish their local community and extend an open invitation for visitors to share in all this town and surrounding area has to offer.
