Crescent Lake is situated mostly in the town of Raymond. Only its very northernmost end is in Casco. At 2.5 miles long and a half mile wide, Crescent Lake is large enough for all recreational activities enjoyed on the water while being small enough to discourage the larger power boats from wanting to recreate here.
Crescent Lake is 703 acres in size, has a maximum depth of 54 feet, an average depth of 17 feet, and a water quality rating of “above average” as determined by the Maine Department of Environmental protection.
At its most southern point along Route 85, find a nice public sandy beach and boat launch. Nearby is the Kokatosi Campground. Fishermen will find brook trout, salmon, pickerel, large and smallmouth bass, white and yellow perch, and sunfish here. A bonus for boaters is found at Crescent Lake’s outlet – the navigable Tenny River that flows into 1,400 acre Panther Pond.
With its surrounding hills and open vistas it’s no wonder many lake lovers find Crescent Lake to be “just right”.
