Island Pond is a 115 acre body of water that hugs the borders of Harrison and Waterford. The pond is located next to Temple Hill, (off Route 117), and drains to Crooked River. It is rectangular in shape and at the southern end is a narrow and rocky island. Maximum depth is 48 ft. and fish types of bass, pickerel and some trout. Public access is on the west side of the pond approximately 0.5 on Island Pond Road just before the entrance to Fernwood Cove Summer Camp For Girls. Hand carried craft only, (canoes, kayaks), due to lack of boat ramp.
