Tripp Lake, Poland

Tripp Lake in Poland covers 735 acres in surface area, is almost eight miles around its shoreline, and has a maximum depth of 35 feet. The Maine Department Of Environmental Proptection has rated its water quality as “average”.

Bounded by Route 11 on the east shore and by Megquier Hill, looming up off its west shore, Tripp Lake is both beautifully situated and easily accessible from the Maine Turnpike, Portland, and the Lewiston/Auburn area.

Measuring about three miles long and nearly a mile wide, Tripp Lake is home to a variety of warm water species of fish including chain pickerel, shiners, largemouth and smallmouth bass, smelt, sunfish, and white and yellow perch. It is also home to two public campgrounds, a children’s summer camp, and a wonderful, four season B&B, the Wolf Cove Inn.

There are several golf courses nearby as well as both Range Ponds State Park and Sebago Lake State Park. A drive up Megquier Hill Road offers wonderful views of Tripp Lake and the surrounding hills. Many shops, restaurants, and ameneties are within a short driving distance.

Lakefront property found here varies a good deal from modest camps and cottages to year round homes. Jordan Shore Drive on the east shore follows close to the water’s edge with many of the homes located on the off-side of the road, that is Jordan Shore Drive runs between the homesite and the lakefront that goes with it.
