Whitney Pond, Oxford
Whitney Pond is located in Oxford, one of eight towns nestled in the beautiful Western Foothills of Maine known as Oxford Hills. The pond is small, 167 acres and only 4 miles around the perimeter with a maximum depth of only 24 feet. Water quality at Whitney Pond is rated average.
Whitney Pond’s fishery type is warmwater with several fish species including largemouth bass, white perch and chain pickerel.
Currently there is no public access to Whitney Pond, however, it can be accessed through Hogan Pond as both pond’s outlets are interconnected. Hogan Pond lies to the west and runs parallel to Whitney with only a narrow strip of land separating the two bodies of water.
In Oxford you will find much to explore including the popular Oxford Casino and Hotel, the only casino in southern Maine, and Oxford Plains Speedway for auto racing enthusiasts!
