As we all prepare for another large snow event that is scheduled to hit us on Tuesday and Wednesday of this upcoming week with high winds, up to a foot of snow near the coast, and more snow inland being predicted to finish up sometime late on Wednesday, it’s a very good time to remind everyone that there are fun warm weather events coming up soon, here in our great Maine Lakes region!

On Sunday May 21st St. Ann’s Espiscopal Church will be hosting their annual Scramble Golf Tournament at the lovely Spring Meadows Golf Course in Gray, Maine.  The event starts at noon and runs through the afternoon with events and presentations scheduled to wrap-up by 6pm that day. And there are more events coming up soon also, that are Golf related for golfers and non-golfers alike!
Our local chamber of commerce also has this information for the annual Golf tournament at Point Sebago Resort scheduled for the second Thursday in June:

SLRCC Golf Open

June 8 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

Join the SLRCC for an amazing day of golfing for a great cause. The open funds the chamber’s scholarship programs, as well as other chamber related events and services. The day starts with registration from 7:00-7:45am (with breakfast), then an 8am shotgun start to the best ball scramble. The event ends with lunch and award presentation

Registration fees cover golfing with cart, breakfast, lunch and tons of contests! Per golfer rate is $125 before May 27th (or $150 with BUNDLE – 30 raffle tickets and one mulligan)

And also in June for the many non-golfers on the 24th you can participate and maybe win, while supporting another great cause sponsored by the Chamber:
Join us at Windham Summerfest as we hold the 3rd Annual Community Golf Ball Drop. Sponsor – Modern Woodmen is going to match the first $2,500 made. That money will go directly to the chamber’s Charitable Trust which funds the Feed The Need (FTN) campaign. FTN monies are donated annually to the 12 food pantries in the Sebago Lakes Region (Casco, Gray, Naples, New Gloucester, Raymond, Sebago, Standish and Windham).

Support the Sebago Lakes Region Chamber and help feed local families! All golf balls will be dropped from a Windham Ladder Firetruck at Summerfest. The ball closest to the “pin” wins 20% of the proceeds (that’s up to $2,000 if we sell all 1000 golf balls)! There will also be ancillary prizes for other golf balls as well. Don’t miss this fun community event!! $10 per ball (you’ll receive numbers, not actual golf balls)
