July is underway with the long Fourth of July weekend behind us, one of our great Maine traditions is underway: The many Maine agricultural Fairs we are blessed to be able to visit brings us the opportunity to enjoy the Ossippee Valley Fair this weekend. Although not the largest fair around these parts – that happens at the end of the fair season in Fryeburg – they do claim to be the friendliest fair you might visit:

and hopefully the rain will hold off this weekend, or not be too heavy to dampen the friendly atmosphere there. South Hiram is close by, and here’s the schedule of Events:

Also this weekend about 30 minutes away, is an annual event that is truly unique to Maine, based on a product that also is truly unique: Moxie. Here is information about this year’s Moxie Festival this weekend in Lisbon:

For those wanting to learn more about Yoga, travel due east about 30 minutes from the Maine Lakes Region into the Portland area for the Maine Yoga Fest and get your “Aum On”.. The Primal Shabda. Om, actually pronounced “Aum,” is an affirmation of the Divine Presence that is the universe, and this weekend is a great time to get out and learn more:

Worth noting if you are “here from away” and you want to experience a real Maine adventure, what I am about to suggest – if you are here for a time and you want to experience something different and special and you can afford the time to get away for a road trip: The Maine Potato Blossom Festival begins this weekend and runs through Sunday the 17th. This is no small road trip, because this will require you to travel north here in Maine to Aroostook county, and driving south the same distance would put you close to New York City. I can assure you that you will never regret the experience, especially if you visit the Mount Katahdin area either northbound or southbound. Check out the weeklong schedule of events here:

Next weekend starting the 15th also close by in Yarmouth just north of Portland, is the annual Yarmouth Clam Festival. I can tell you from personal experience this week, that if your chair is not already positioned on Main Street for the Parade, you are too late!
A wonderful festival every year, always great music and amazing food, this is a Maine-Must-Do when you can. Here is the link:

More next week, get out and Enjoy!
