Sunsets from my deck

The first time I came to Maine was quite an experience. After driving for several hours from Massachusetts, I had reached the town of Naples and, as I was driving up Route 35 heading to Harrison, ME, I could not believe the beauty. It was in the fall and the foliage was at its peak. The colors were breathtaking. As I crossed the town line into Harrison and looked to my left, there was a view I will never forget. The White Mountains.

I continued on to Cape Monday Cove, my ultimate destination, which was to become my home on Long Lake. I was elated. I have lived here for over 30 years now and the view of the sunsets from my deck will never cease to amaze me.

Weekends at my home with my children and grandchildren are the best.

I so enjoy watching my family frolic in the water, jumping off the dock, basking in the sun, waterskiing, taking a ride in our boat and just having fun.  When the “Fall  Season” begins, we enjoy hiking.  One of the spots we hike to is nearby Eagle Rock. When we reach the top, we love to sit and gaze out at Long Lake and watch the Eagles soar by.

As I sit in my cozy living room in the winter, I look out my window and watch the snowmobilers, skaters and ice-fishermen enjoying Long Lake. Often, I will join the fun with my family.

If you are looking for a home on a lake in Maine, Long Lake is the place to be.  Over 30 miles of boating is available: from the northern tip of Long Lake, hence through Brandy Pond, then down the Songo River into the length of Sebago Lake.
